From the President's Outbox: Celebrating Service
This Veterans Day we pause to honor the generations of extraordinary Americans—among them, past and present members of the Caltech community—for their service to our country as part the United States Armed Forces. These women and men are our friends, relatives, neighbors, and colleagues. They are Caltech faculty, staff, and students who answered our nation's call in its hour of need, and who embody our tradition of service to society.
Today, I would like to personally express my gratitude to those who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. For those of you who have loved ones in active duty, please know we also value the love and unwavering support you provide—it gives them the courage and hope they need to keep going.
>I can think of no better way to honor our veterans than through your own form of service to our community, our nation, or our world. Whether you provide meals to the hungry, volunteer in our schools, or seek to provide low-cost, sustainable energy to the world, your actions bring greater meaning to our veterans' sacrifices.
Yours in Service,
Jean-Lou
