Change to AY 2026-2027 calendar

Azita Emami, the Chair of the Faculty Board, asked that we share the changes to the AY 2026-2027 calendar that were approved by the Faculty Board. Please share broadly.

The Faculty Board approved a five-day final exam period for 2026-2027 in its June 1, 2026, Faculty Board meeting. While more comprehensive communication will be forthcoming, this preliminary message is intended to inform you of changes to instructional dates, study periods, and final examination dates for 2026–27 to assist you with your planning.

The exam schedule for 2026-2027 will be as follows:  

Fall term:

  • December 2: last day of classes 
  • December 3–6: study period
  • December 7–11: final examinations

Winter term:

  • March 10: last day of classes
  • March 11–14: study period
  • March 15–19: final examinations

Spring term for non-graduating undergraduates:

  • June 2: last day of classes
  • June 3–6: study period
  • June 7–11: final examinations

Spring term for seniors and graduate students:

  • May 26: last day of classes
  • May 27–31: study period
  • May 31: Memorial Day
  • June 1–4: final examinations

The academic calendar was updated to reflect these changes. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
