February 13 update:

The Pasadena Police Department has identified and arrested a suspect in connection with the burglary and motor vehicle theft that occurred between the evening of Friday, February 7, 2020, and the following morning on the Caltech campus. The vehicle was recovered and returned to Caltech. Caltech Security has determined that there is no ongoing threat to the Caltech community.

As always, please contact Security immediately at 626-395-5000 (x5000) to report any suspicious activity.

TIMELY WARNING FROM CALTECH SECURITY

Between the evening of Friday, February 7, 2020, and the following morning, a burglary and auto theft occurred on Caltech's campus. The burglar used a long-handled gardening tool to smash in the window of the Caltech Transportation Office (behind Steele Laboratory), stole two sets of car keys from the office, and then stole a Caltech-owned Ford Fusion.

The thefts occurred between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. No suspects have been identified yet, but the Pasadena Police Department is investigating. If you have any information pertaining to the burglary, please call Security immediately at 626-395-5000 (x5000).

We ask for your help in making the campus as safe as possible. Please contact Security immediately to report any suspicious activity. Do not confront anyone on campus. Your safety is our primary concern. Items can be replaced, so DO NOT attempt to contact or confront anyone you suspect is engaging in suspicious or criminal activity.
