Dr. Laura Melissa Guzman's overarching research goal is to develop statistical and computational methods to leverage large biodiversity datasets to learn about ecological processes.
Her work focuses on determining if and how statistical models can be applied to historical records without yielding biased trends.
Dr. Guzman is an Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Southern California and earned her Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of British Columbia.
