Movies That Matter presents "Chasing Ice"

Caltech's "Movies That Matter" in collaboration with the campus' Earth Week celebration, will present "Chasing Ice" a 75-minute Academy Award nominated documentary film about the shrinking glaciers in Iceland, Greenland, and Alaska. Beautifully filmed, the film follows James Balog, a National Geographic photographer, as he fights the elements to capture time-lapsed footage of the accelerating changes in the ice-pack that will result in ever higher sea levels in the coming years. The screening, which will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 7:30 PM in Beckman Auditorium, will be followed by a Q & A lead by researchers from the campus and JPL. Admission is free but reservations are strongly recommended.
