Please join the Caltech Y for an intimate discussion with Prof. Frances Arnold as she talks about her scientific journey to winning the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, her plans and role in the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology (PCAST) with President Biden, and what the future may hold for the next generation of scientists.

Prof. Frances Arnold is the Linus Pauling Professor of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Biochemistry and Director of the Rosen Bioengineering Center at Caltech. In 2018, she became the first American woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for pioneering directed evolution methods used to make enzymes for applications across medicine, consumer products, agriculture, fuels, and chemicals. She was appointed Co-Chair of the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology (PCAST) by President Biden in 2021.
