BOND Colloquium "Careers in Academia: Beyond the R1"

BOND is excited to host Careers in Academia: Beyond the R1, our first colloquium and the first of its kind at Caltech– a full day dedicated to exploring the many paths an academic career can take beyond the traditional R1 research track.

We've brought together professors and educators from a range of institutions to share not just their science, but what actually prepared them for their roles, what a day in their life looks like, and how teaching has shaped their careers. Whether you're picturing yourself at a liberal arts college, a community college, a teaching-focused university, or even outside a traditional faculty role, this event is designed to show you what those paths really look like.

Breakfast, coffee breaks, and lunch are all provided to attendees (thanks to GSC and CTLO/CFAM)! During lunch, attendees will also have the chance to sit down with any of the invited speakers for one-on-one conversations about their careers, their path into academia, and any questions you have about pursuing a similar route.
