Re: Campus Security

Caltech has made important changes to campus security and we want to be sure you are aware of the changes and the different ways you may recognize our security officers during this transition period.

Recently, Caltech enhanced campus security with the addition of Allied Universal, which services more than 500 campus locations nationwide. Caltech Security's leadership has remained in-house. Within the next few weeks, officers will transition to Caltech branded uniforms. In the meantime, some security staff will be wearing Allied Universal uniforms, which consist of a blue polo-type shirt and black pants. If you are concerned about whether officers are Caltech Security personnel, please call x4701 to inquire. Allied-branded cars will be used until they are replaced with Caltech security vehicles.

Emergency contact numbers (x5000 and 626-395-5000) and safety procedures will remain as they currently are. Patrols are ongoing 24/7 and Security can continue to be contacted at x4701 for lockouts and escorts.

For more information on Caltech's commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors, visit the Caltech Security website or call x4701.
